Welcome to Papaya Peg. This privacy policy explains how Matthew Fadoul ("I", "me", or "the Developer") handles data within the Papaya Peg iOS application.
Papaya Peg is designed to be a privacy-focused game. I do not require a Papaya Peg account, and I do not collect or store your personal identity, name, or contact information on any server operated by me.
Specifically, the app stores:
No game state, high score, Daily Challenge, Weekly Challenge, Quest, currency, or settings data is transmitted to any server operated by me. Some of this data may instead be transmitted to your own private iCloud database if iCloud Sync is available and active, as described in Section 3. The app does not include developer-operated analytics or developer-operated tracking.
Papaya Peg may optionally sync certain gameplay data across your devices using Apple's CloudKit framework, stored in your own private iCloud database associated with your Apple ID. iCloud Sync is separate from Game Center and needs no additional sign-in beyond already being signed into iCloud on your device.
When iCloud Sync is available and active, Papaya Peg may store and merge your Shared Papaya balance (added by in-app purchases), local Hint and Undo credit ledger entries, classic board results, Daily and Weekly Challenge results, Quest progress, and in-progress active games, so the same information is available on your other Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account. Challenge completion results can sync so another device can show that a Daily or Weekly Challenge was completed, even if an in-progress board on that device is not replaced automatically. This data is stored only in your own private iCloud database, which only you can access through your Apple ID; I do not operate this database and cannot access, view, or download its contents.
iCloud Sync is optional. Papaya Peg works fully offline without it, and not being signed into iCloud, or choosing not to use iCloud Sync, does not affect local play. Settings shows current sync status and, on the rare occasion two of your devices have different in-progress games for the same board, lets you choose which one to keep. You can also manage iCloud availability for apps through your device and Apple ID settings.
Papaya Peg may offer optional Apple Game Center features, including leaderboards and achievements. These features are opt-in. If you choose not to enable Game Center features, Papaya Peg does not submit your scores or achievement progress to Game Center.
If you choose to enable Game Center features and are signed in to Game Center with your Apple ID, Papaya Peg may submit gameplay information needed for those features to Apple through Apple's GameKit APIs. This may include scores, leaderboard entries, achievement progress, and related Game Center player identifiers. Apple processes and displays Game Center information according to your Apple account and Game Center privacy settings.
I do not operate Game Center, receive your Apple ID contact information, or maintain a separate server copy of your Game Center data. You can manage Game Center availability and sharing through iOS and Game Center settings.
Papaya Peg offers optional consumable in-app purchases ("Papaya packs") that add Papayas, the app's in-game currency, to your account. All purchases are billed and processed entirely by Apple through the App Store and your Apple ID. I do not collect, process, see, or store your payment card, billing address, or other financial or payment information at any point; Apple handles this directly under Apple's own privacy and payment terms.
To avoid granting the same purchase more than once, Papaya Peg keeps a local record of already-processed purchase transaction identifiers on your device (and, if iCloud Sync is active, as part of the private iCloud data described in Section 3). This record does not include your name, payment method, billing address, or other Apple ID account details. Because Papaya packs are consumable, they do not restore through Apple's standard restore-purchases mechanism; Shared Papayas can instead appear on your other devices through iCloud Sync when available and active.
Papaya Peg may display banner advertisements and optional rewarded video advertisements using Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Rewarded ads are shown only when you choose to watch one in exchange for an in-app reward, such as Papayas that can be spent on Hint or Undo credits, and are never shown automatically or without your action. The app also uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK to request and manage advertising consent or privacy choices where required.
Google may process device, ad delivery, consent, and interaction information to provide, limit, measure, and improve ads according to Google's policies. This may include information such as IP address, device identifiers available to the SDK, ad views, video reward interactions, diagnostics, performance data, and coarse location inferred by Google. Papaya Peg is configured for non-tracking advertising. The app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission and does not access the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).
Papaya Peg does not request ATT permission and does not track your activity across other companies' apps or websites. If a future version adds tracking-based advertising, this policy and the app's App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before or alongside that release.
Papaya Peg does not knowingly collect personal information from users of any age. The app is suitable for all ages. Optional Game Center features are provided by Apple and are subject to Apple account, parental control, and Game Center settings. In-app purchases are billed through the purchaser's Apple ID; parents can use Apple's Ask to Buy and Screen Time controls to manage a child's ability to make purchases.
If future versions of the app introduce new features that affect data handling, this policy will be updated before or alongside that release. App Store privacy disclosures should also be kept in sync with this policy and with the current behavior of Apple services and third-party SDKs used by the app.
